Protecting your privacy is very important to the Delbrook Youth Basketball Association (“DYBA”). Our commitment to our members is to respect and protect the privacy and confidentiality of personal and financial information that is entrusted to us in the course of administering sports programs for our members.
DYBA has created the following privacy policy. It confirms our commitment to protecting your privacy and maintaining the trust that you have placed in us.
DYBA collects non-public personal information about you to allow your registration for various basketball activities. Examples of this type of information include your name, address, telephone number, birth date, important medical information and other personal information. We also collect credit card information from your during the registration process. And in some cases we may also receive information about you from others.
DYBA is committed to ensuring that you are aware of how your personal information is used. We will not collect, use, or disclose your personal information without your consent. By providing us with your personal information for the purposes listed above, you consent to our collection and use of the information for those purposes.
If we wish to collect your personal information for purposes other than stated above, we may request that you consent, verbally or in writing, to such collection. If we wish to use personal information that we have already collected, for a purpose other than stated above, then we will first seek your consent to such use.
We may periodically request written confirmation from you to ensure that the personal information collected and maintained by us is up-to-date and accurate. We also may ensure that we have your continuing consent to the use and retention of your personal information.
You have the right to refuse or withdraw your consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information at any time. In some cases such refusal or withdrawal may prohibit or adversely affect the completion the registration process of players you are associated with. We will advise you if that is the case.
DYBA will disclose your personal information, for other than the purposes stated above, only if required to do so by law. We will notify you of any such disclosure and provide you with the reason that obligates us to release the personal information.
DYBA restricts the collection of personal information only to that information that is necessary for the limited purposes noted above. We are committed to collecting personal information in a fair, open and lawful manner.
For this reason, DYBA does not indiscriminately collect personal information. We collect personal information to fulfill the above-noted purposes only, and for no other purposes.
DYBA does not use personal information for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected, unless it has first obtained the consent of the person from whom such information was received. We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed and only for the fulfillment of the purposes for which it was originally collected.
DYBA is committed to maintaining accurate, complete and up-to-date personal information. If you are aware of changes to the personal information you have given to us, simply inform us of the changes and we will update our records accordingly.
DYBA has developed and implemented security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information kept by us. These security safeguards include physical security measures, such as locked cabinet storage and restricted access to areas where personal information is stored.
We have and will continue to take every safeguard to protect the confidentiality of electronically transferred personal information, but may not guarantee absolute assurance that it will not be compromised during transmission.
Each and every one of our volunteers is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of all personal information to which they have access. Our volunteers are advised to know and respect our privacy policy, and compliance with our policies and procedures for protecting personal information is a condition of their position.
Any personal information kept by us is disposed of or destroyed once it is no longer needed to meet the purposes for which it was collected.
