Games & Practices
- All Divisions have one 1 hour practice and one 1-1.5 hour game per week.
- Practices are Monday to Thursday after 5:00pm. - You will be able to specify your child’s availability at Evaluations. PLEASE NOTE: your child MUST be able to practice in order to play in our league – they may not only attend games.
Games are on either Saturday or Sunday. Younger children usually play and practice in the earlier time slots.
Teams
- Evaluation ‘Skills & Drills’ sessions are held in the first weeks of September; - All players must attend these sessions; - Players are then placed on ‘Scrimmage Squads’ for a weekend of games; - While these Scrimmage Squads are tentative teams, the League reserves the right to move players from team to team. This is an essential part of the process of balancing teams; - Players, parents and coaches will be expected to cooperate in our attempts to make the most balanced teams possible – it only makes for a better season for everyone!
Friends
The Delbrook Basketball League does not accept requests for kids to be placed on a team with their friends, nor do we create teams based on schools. Our belief is that the more kids they meet over the course of their years with us the better served they will be in their future endeavors, including entering high school. Our experience is that teams bond quickly. And parents, you will find carpooling buddies on your child’s team!
** Exception: A special promotion is being offered to encourage more enrollment in the girls' divisions only.
